London: Day 3
This morning we ate breakfast at the bed and breakfast, as always. Today's breakfast consisted of an egg, bacon, and sausage. I honestly didn't even try the sausage because I've heard scary things about the sausage in England. Nelie tried it and said that it pretty much disintegrated in her mouth. Ew.
After that we walked all the way to the train station. It was a fairly long walk and we almost missed our train, but we did catch it. We had to run to get to it, but it all worked out. We took the train from London to Warwick which was about an hour and a half ride.
From the Warwick train station we walked up Castle Hill to Warwick Castle. The walk up Castle Hill was really pretty.

I've always dreamed of seeing a real castle in England and now I finally saw one! Warwick Castle dates back to 1068 and is built right along the River Avon. Laura and I explored the whole castle. We went through the dungeon, the great hall, the towers, the living quarters, the servants quarters, and we walked around the castle walls. The views from up in the towers were amazing. You could see for miles. I loved seeing the English countryside in person.

Before leaving the castle we also visited the peacock garden and the mill house down by the river. The river was so pretty! It was a very picturesque scene.

Once we left the castle, we all got some food and then headed to the train station to wait for our train. We ended up eating on the train platform.

When we got back to London, we went to our bed and breakfast where we had an hour to change into nicer clothes, then we headed off to the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London to see Wicked. I'll admit that I didn't know what to expect of the show itself, but I never should have doubted it. I love The Wizard of Oz so I should have known that I would love it. And I did love it! To make the experience even better, they had a little candy cart selling candy at the theatre. I didn't know what any of the candy was but the man selling the candy guided me through it all and he did a pretty good job. I ended up liking most of the candy I ended up with.

After the show |
After the show, everyone wanted to eat supper. However, since we had a group of 12 and it was late at night, we were having a hard time finding a place that had room for everyone. It was at this point that Laura and I decided to strike out on our own for the first time. Being on our own in London after dark was a bit intimidating, but we found an Italian place called Bella Italia. It was super good. After that we went back to the bed and breakfast and went to sleep. We were exhausted after such a busy day.
